Country Citizens in the U.S. to Stage Demonstration against TPLF Regime

Asmara — Reports say that Ethiopians residing in the US are planning to stage demonstration against the TPLF regime on 13 September condemning the genocide being committed by the regime.


The protest is scheduled to be staged at the Capital Square in front of the White House in Washington, according to the organizing committee for the planned demonstration.
The Association of Oromo-Americans also disclosed that members of the Association would participate in the demonstration. Similarly, Ethiopian nationals living in other parts of the US also plan to take part in the protest move.


It is to be noted that the TPLF regime is perpetrating acts of killing and other forms of repression in different parts of Ethiopia, especially in the Oromia, the Ogaden and Debub Hizboch zones, as well as in various corners of  Tigray.

Freedom Fighter, Major Atanaw Wassie, Killed in Kality

Major Atanaw a longtime political refugee and freedom fighter against dictatorial regimes (Official of EDU) died at the age of 75 years in Ethiopia after two years of sufferings and torture by war criminals Melese Zenawi of Ethiopia and Al Bashir of Sudan.

Major Atanaw used to live in Sudan until he was forcefully and involuntary returned to Ethiopia to face cruel and inhumane treatment that resulted his death in Kality Prison in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.


His dead body was released from Kality Prison to the family members after the tribal rulers received payment. Major Atanaw was laid to rest in his birth place Gondar on Sunday August 23., 2009.

Ethiopian Migrant shot and killed in Egypt

Egyptian border guards have fatally shot an African man and wounded a woman trying to cross the border with Israel.

The two were with 13 other African migrants trying to get to Israel from south of the town of Rafah today.

Egyptian security and hospital officials say the dead man, an Ethiopian, and the Eritrean woman, ignored warning shots. They say the other migrants gave themselves up and were detained.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak to the media.
